Definition of Facility Use for Grace Church of Greater Akron
All use of a Grace Church Facility must meet the Grace Church constitutional requirements for property use:
Article VI, Section 3: Property Use
All church property shall be dedicated to and used for the worship of the Triune God, edification of believers,
and the evangelization of the lost. All meetings, gatherings, events and activities conducted on church property
shall be consistent with the objectives of this church (1Cor. 10:31, 14:40), in harmony with the Statement of
Faith as set forth in the Constitution and in compliance with the Facility Use Policy.
Requirements for Facility Use
The following requirements must be met before approval will be granted for facility use at Grace Church:
1. The use of facilities at Grace Church is reserved for those who regularly attend Grace Church.
2. The purposes of the group using our facilities are not contrary to, or in competition with Grace Church, its
values or its purposes.
3. The requested use does not interfere with the use of the facilities for any of Grace Church’s previously
scheduled events.
4. The requested use does not include fund-raising events unless the event benefits Grace Church ministry
partners.
5. The requested use does not include for-profit events or events that endorse a political candidate or issues
that conflict with the Grace Church Statement of Faith.
6. Any outside group/organization requesting Grace Church’s facilities must submit a certificate of liability
insurance in the amount of at least one million dollars ($1,000,000) two weeks prior to the event.
7. Any outside group/organization requesting Grace Church’s facilities must submit a copy of the Facility Use
Policy; the Building Use Guidelines and the Grace Church Hold Harmless Agreement two weeks prior to
the event.
Campus Specific Information
The following requirements are campus-specific and are determined at the sole discretion of the Campus Pastor
or his designee:
1. Each Campus of Grace Church will determine the final approval for each request at the respective
campus.
2. Specific rooms, locations and uses shall be determined by Grace Church to best facilitate each request.
Generally, all personal events are permitted on Saturdays only, between the hours of 10am – 4pm.
3. Requests will be considered on an individual basis, taking into account availability, other concurrent
events, number of attendees, parking and Grace Church’s overall ability to service the event.
4. The group, individual or organization will leave the building, property, and facilities in the same condition
in which they were found and shall comply with the facility use guidelines for that specific campus.
5. The Campus Facilities Manager and the requesting organization’s contact person will meet, upon approval
of the event, to discuss the details of the event.
